I waited until today to write about last night's SOTU speech. It is an effort to down-play the emotional and physical spells that usually overcome me while listening to the "Great One" and not let them color my prose or blind my poetic narrative. I don't share that "leg tingling" sensation that so often besets Chris Matthews. My symptoms manifest themselves in more of a migraine with Tourette's syndrome and Crohn's disease kind of way... hence, the delay. So, without further adieu, we'll get down to the rat killin'.
President Obama's second State of the Union address was an obtuse oration of unoriginal, demagogic and patronizing hogwash. With a palpable air of condescension and contempt for anything factual, Obama spent an hour in front of Congress and the nation: taking credit for things he never did, making history fit his fantasy and reality completely mythical. Yes, I know these are things that all politicians do, but Obama's hard swing to the center must be seen for what it really is. This small, futile attempt at a Reaganesque, "we can do it", "win the future, for the Gipper" SOTU was nothing more than a bland recitation of his own stealth radicalism.
Apparently, a device less complicated than my iPod, launched into space in 1957 by a country that ceased to exist 20 years ago has become a metaphorical icon. Sputnik, that marvel of Soviet engineering, that pre-coursed our own conquest to the moon, has been taken up by the President as a figurative example of the American crisis today. I'm not really sure what his point was. I was too busy laughing at the Irony of the man who single-handedly de-funded NASA, invoking Sputnik....Anyhow, we have big problems, and many obstacles in front of us because of this damn commie satellite from the 50's. Here they are as BHO sees em'.
Jobs. "One hell of an idea", according to Barry. "We created 1,000,000 new jobs last year", the President told us last night. Well the sad part is, that's not even treading water in a good economy. Not to fear however, Barry is going to save us all by "Winning The Future".... As I understand it, he wants to kick-ass in the 21st century by creating a shitload of 19th and 20th century jobs in the train-yards to be built in Cape Canaveral, Fl and Houston, Tx. There will be even more jobs like the one your grandfather had, building new highways for all the electric cars that don't exist. "High-speed Rail for 80% of the population by 2025", what a bunch of crap! Pull out a map!!! It's geographically impossible. It also begs the question "What do you call Amtrak employees on meth?"....high speed rail.
American Exceptionalism. Huh? Since taking office, BHO has traveled around the world apologizing to everybody else on the planet for all sorts of American transgressions, (some even real) but last night we were told that, yes.. we do suck. You see, S. Korea has better internet than we do... ( never mind that the whole country smells like kimchee and human wastes and there is a Communist lunatic with a 4,000,000 man army to their north) Europe and Russia spend more money on new roads than we do. (No Shit!, half the roads in Europe were built by the ROMANS! and the Ruskies can't get their crops to market before they rot! Russia is friggin' HUGE !! it makes Texas look like Delaware.) China is building new airports...(Good for them, what do they have,... 100 now? For 2 Billion People! what do you expect? more rickshaw depots.....) How about this Mr. President...We try building say... 4-5 Nuclear Power Plants (like you gave lip-service to last year...the French get 80% of their Electricity via Nuke.) 4-5 new Oil-Refineries (last one was 1984) and let NASA go to Mars..(.It's whats next).... I'm glad this bunch of Democrats didn't have to build the "Information Super-Highway", (we'd be up to our ass in Mexican concrete trucks and asphalt machines)
Investment. Here is where is gets tricky. When Politicians, (especially Democrats) say "invest" they mean "spend your money". When most individuals say "invest", they mean "make my money grow". Follow with me...the government has never created a damn thing in it's own right. It can't. It has no means of production or inherent capital. The government is dependent on the individual for operating funds and it's own legitimacy. Therefore the Gummint' cannot and has not ever "invested" in anything. It can and does "spend" like crazy, but by it's very nature it does not have the moral authority to "invest". Did Henry Ford need gummint' "investing" to invent the model T? Edison the phonograph? Apple the iPhone? Hell, Microsoft didn't even need gummint' help stealing what they did....The Obama Administrations' "investment" in GM and Chrysler in 2008 was "Larceny", just ask the bondholders who were raped by that deal. The only thing the gummint' could freely "invest" in, is the deregulation of it's citizen's lives.
Education. Liberals love this one...it's how they create more Liberals, by keeping the masses emotional, stupid and dependent. Democrats will beat this drum forever... More gummint' "investment"= less parental and personal responsibility. Washington D.C, "invests" three times the natl' average per student...only to get their asses kicked by Mississippi in test scores. Maybe we should require math and science access questions on X-box?.......no trig, no Halo....
Lies. That ol' boy from South Carolina ended up in deep doo-doo over this last year....but he was right. I heard so many blatant mis-truths last night I wanted to scream....Here are my favorite Obama-lies..
1.The tax-cuts "He" passed....
2.Subsidies for Oil Companies
3.Tort Reform
4.Cutting the Corporate tax rate (only Japan is higher)
5.Social Security Reform

What he really believes. The scariest statement last night reveals the most about this President and what he really believes.
"The bipartisan Fiscal Commission I created last year made this crystal clear. I don’t agree with all their proposals, but they made important progress. And their conclusion is that the only way to tackle our deficit is to cut excessive spending wherever we find it – in domestic spending, defense spending, health care spending, and spending through tax breaks and loopholes."
(emphasis added).
What he is doing is equating tax breaks with spending...ergo, all income belongs to the state and an individual retaining their own money is a realized opportunity cost to the tax coffers. Do not be surprised when the Dems come for your IRA to bail-out social security and medicare....their "Progressive" brethren in Europe and South America are already doing it.
